Bhubaneswar: A junior engineer in Khordha district was arrested by Odisha Vigilance for allegedly taking bribe from a person to facilitate release of his bills.
Sanghamitra Sahoo, junior engineer of Begunia block has been apprehended by the vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.5000 at her office from a contractor for facilitating release of his bills.
A case has been registered in this connection with Bhubaneswar Vigilance under section 7 of The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
The investigation in the matter is in progress, the vigilance said.
