Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended an assistant engineer of Kundra Block in Koraput district for allegedly taking bribe.
The assistant engineer has been identified as Bhanumati Tudu.
Tudu was caught by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000 at Kundura Block office from a beneficiary for facilitating release of bill towards construction of “Cattle Shed” by beneficiary.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Asst. Engineer.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 3 locations of Tudu from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S Case No. 19 dated 26.09.2024 U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against Tudu.
