Paralakhemundi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will flag off LAccMI Bus service in Gajapati district today. The buses, run under the Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme, will reach the rural hinterlands of the district from today.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to flag off 36 state-of-the-art buses today that will connect Panchayats to Blocks and Blocks to District Headquarters.
Gajapati will be the second district after Malkangiri to get the service. In the first phase, six districts of Odisha – Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal districts.
The Government of Odisha will operate 1000 buses under the LAccMI scheme in the rural hinterlands across the state and has provisioned a budget of Rs 3,178 crore for this.
The buses will run from Panchayats to Block headquarters and from Block headquarters to district headquarters.
