Konark: Lakhs of devotees took holy dip at the Chandrabhaga sea on the occasion of Magha Saptami today. Devotees gathered at the beach early morning and offered prayers to the Sun God. Elaborate arrangements were made at the venue to manage the crowd.
More than 30 platoons of police were engaged by the district administration for crowd and vehicular management in and around Konark. Also, nine police assistance booths were set up and fifty lifeguards were on standby to avoid any untoward incident. The ASI has waived the entry fee for Konark temple for the day on the occasion of Magha Saptami.
