Lakhs Of Devotees Throng Puri to Offer Prayers And Take Blessings Of Lord Jagannath On New Year

Puri: Lakhs of devotees this morning thronged Srimandira in Puri to offer prayers to the Holy Trinity on the first day of the New Year. Serpentine queues were seen on the Badadanda where devotees waited for their turn to enter the temple and have darshan of the of Lord Jagannath and his divine siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

Keeping in view the heavy rush of people to the holy city, Puri Police has made elaborate arrangements for management of traffic and crowd. More than 60 platoons of police force have been engaged to ensure hassle free darshan for the devotees. The Police have also issued advisory on management of traffic to the Badadanda and other important places.
