Balasore: A loud and unknown sound was heard in Balasore and adjoining areas today morning creating panic among the residents. The booming sound occurred at about 11. 50 am and was heard also in Bhadrak town and Dhamnagar.
The sound was so huge that people came out of their houses in panic and could not understand what happened. This is the third time that such a loud sound was heard in the area in the last two months. While there were no reports of any missile testing or any other exercises in the nearby Chandipur, it is believed that the sound may have been a sonic boom.
