Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday flagged off the Maati Kalash Yatra as part of the state level “Meri Maati Mera Desh” programme.
An Amrit Vatika will be constructed in New Delhi on the holy soil collected from all the panchayats of the country and the state. The Kalash Yatra will start from tomorrow to New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that today’s India is the contribution of our martyrs and freedom fighters. They will forever be remembered. Paying homage to countless martyrs and freedom fighters of the country, the Chief Minister said that Odisha is a holy land. Many heroes have been martyred for the freedom of the country and the glory of the motherland.
The Kalash Yatra will inspire us all to work for the unity and integrity of the country, the CM said.
The Chief Minister also thanked the Prime Minister for thinking such a great programme and said that the Amrit Vatika built in New Delhi with all these sacred soil will be considered as a place of pilgrimage for every Indian in the coming days.
He said that this Amrit Vatika will awaken patriotism in every Indian and inform the future generations about the sacrifices and sacrifices of the fighters.
The Chief Minister further said that this programme will further illuminate the history of our freedom struggle and inspire everyone to build a new Odisha and a new India.
Panchayati Raj, Information and Public Relations Minister Pradeep Amat and Tourism Minister Ashwini Patra attended the today’s programme.
5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
