Bhubaneswar: The ambitious Mukhya Mantri Bayu Swasthya Seva service launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to provide advanced health services to the people of remote and backward areas has been successfully delivering super specialty healthcare to the common man since December 2019.
Specialist doctors from the state’s premiere Medical Colleges and Hospitals are reaching out to the remote areas and providing treatment and consultancy to the patients who cannot afford to go distance places. Currently available for the remote districts of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada, the Mukhya Mantri Bayu Swasthya Seva has been a blessing for more than 3200 people till now. This Air Health Service is provided free to the people of the districts. Specialist doctors are flown to remote areas to treat patients admitted into their respective district headquarter hospitals and if required, the critical patients will also be airlifted to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
More than 2000 cases in Urosurgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Laparoscopic surgery, Endoscopy, Echocardiography have been done during the camps. Experts from Government Medical Colleges and Private Hospitals are managing the needy patients. Supported by the district administrations and officials including the Collectors, CDM, PHO and the total team of specialists, nursing and supporting staff have made it a huge success and are actively managing the camp activities.
