Mukhya Mantri Shikhya Purashkar to Be Given Best Performing Dists in 5T School Transformation Programme
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced that the best performing districts in the 5T School Transformation programme will be awarded with the Mukhya Mantri Shikhya Purashkar.
The major announcement came on the last day of the third phase of the State Government’s 5T High School Transformation programme.
Expressing his happiness over the remarkable wok of school transformation, the Chief Minister announced that the Mukhya Mantri Shikhya Purashkar will be given to the districts which are doing well in the programme.
The first prize would be Rs 3 crore, the second prize Rs 2 crore and the third prize Rs 1 crore. He said that a grand ceremony will be organized at the state level to give the awards. Similarly, among the blocks that have done good work in this field, the top ten blocks will be awarded Rs 50 lakh each, the CM said.
Giving the details about the award, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian said that the quality of education can be enhanced if there is more competition in education. ‘Let’s celebrate education. Let’s cherish education as a festival’, he said.
The 5T Secretary further said that the not only the districts and blocks, but also the old students of the school, the head masters, the Panchayat representatives and the members of the school management committee will be awarded.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday dedicated 335 transformed high schools in four districts. It includes 98 schools in Cuttack district, 115 schools in Kalahandi district, 49 schools in Malkangiri district and 73 schools in Jajpur district.
With this, a total of 2151 high schools have been covered under the transformation programme.
It is worth noting that in the last two phases, 3981 schools were transformed in the state. The number has reached 6132 after the completion of the three phases.
