Mundali Likely To Receive Nearly 8 Lakh Cusecs Water By Noon; District Administrations Remain Alert

Cuttack: Due to the continuous heavy rains in various districts of the state, Mundali Barrage on the Mahanadi river in Cuttack is likely to receive 8 lakh cusecs of flood water by today noon. Special Relief Commissioner Satyabrata Sahu has taken a review meeting of the situation and alerted the various District Collectors regarding rise of water in Mahanadi. Collectors of Anugul, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Collectors have been alerted and the district administrations have been kept ready.

The Baitarani river on the other hand is flowing above the danger level The water level of Baitarini at Rajghat and Akhuapada is above the danger level and many low laying areas have been inundated due to flood waters. People in the affected areas are being shifted to safer places and provided all necessary help.
