Naba Das Murder: Crime Branch Likely To Ask For Extension Of Gopal Das’s Remand

Jharsuguda: The Crime Branch team that is investigating into the murder of former Minister Naba Kishore Das is likely to ask for extension of remand of the main accused Gopal Das.

The four day remand of Gopal Das ends today. The investigating agency is continuing its probe into the issue at Jharsuguda, Brajrajnagar and Berhampur. On the last day of the remand, the CB is likely to recreate the crime scene at Brajrajnagar Gandhi Chowk where Gopal Das fired upon the Minister. On the other hand, on the request of the Odisha Police, a six member Central Forensic Science Laboratory team has reached Jharsuguda to investigate the matter.

The Crime Branch team is said to have found substantial evidence on the issue. Yesterday, the team found a diary of Gopal Das from inside his car. In Sambalpur, the Crime Branch team yesterday took the statement of Jivan Kumar Nayak, who also injured in the firing.
