Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s famous Nandankanan Zoological Park will have new guests soon.
The zoological park will add new species to its habitat under the animal exchange programme, which has been approved by the Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi.
As part of the programme, the Nandankanan Zoological Park will bring Gangetic Softshell turtle (2:2), Great White pelican (2:2), Himalayan griffin vulture (2:2), Greater Adjutant stork(2:2) from Assam State Zoo and Botanical garden, Guwahati in exchange of Painted stork (2:2), Mandarin duck (1:1), Spot billed pelican (2:2), Blackbuck (2:3), Back headed ibis (10:10).
A five-member team will leave for Assam to receive the animals. The team will reach Nandankanan with the animals by March 21, as per reports.
