Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced that 34 child friendly police stations will be set up in the State.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to establish one child friendly police station in each of the 34 police districts.
The decision was taken by the Chief Minister, realizing the need for a special environment within the police station for many children and children who need help at various times for various reasons.
All of these police stations will have special facilities for children. The police stations will have special logos and signage, and small libraries having interesting books, magazines and newspapers for children. These police stations will have toys for children and First Aid Kits.
The walls of these police stations will have beautiful pictures and learning material to create a child friendly environment in these police stations.
The child friendly police stations will also have display boards on the rights of children and Do’s and Don’ts for policemen.
These police stations will have a notice board displaying the name and contact details of the Child Welfare Officer and other information.
