Naveen Congratulates Odisha’s Deep Grace Ekka for Selected as Vice-Captain of Indian Women’s Hockey Team for Commonwealth Games 2022
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Odisha player Deep Grace Ekka on being selected as vice-captain of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team for the Commonwealth Games 2022 to be held in Birmingham.

Hockey India on Thursday announced an 18-member squad for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, starting on July 28.
The experienced pair of Savia Punia and Deep Grace Ekka will be the captain and vice-captain of the team at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
India placed in pool A along with England, Canada, Wales and Ghana will begin their campaign on 29th July against Ghana.
Both Savia Punia and Deep Grace Ekka were also announced as captain and vice-captain for the FIH Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Spain and the Netherlands, from July 1-17.
