Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday directed to release the final 20% arrears to the State Government employees under 7th Pay Commission.
The State Government had already released 80% arrears.
The decision will benefit around 4 lakh State govt employees.
The State Government has also allocated Rs 850 crore in 2021-22 budget while the employees will receive the arrear in salary of March.
The state government accepted the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission and implemented it from January 2016 and paid the increased salary from September 2017.
As per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, it was decided to pay a 20-month increase in arrears between January 2016 and August 2017 in installments. According to the decision, 40 per cent arrear were paid in 2017-18, 10 per cent in 2019-20 and 30 per cent in 2021-22.
The pensioners have also received 100 per cent of their salaries.
