Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off the maiden flight to Jeypore in Koraput district at the Biju Patnaik International airport here at Bhubaneswar.
The commencement of flight operations will give boost to connectivity, commerce and tourism, fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the region.
The flight is being operated by IndiaOne Air. The scheduled flight will reduce the travel time between the State capital and Jeypore town to 1.5 hours. The flight will connect Jeypore with Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar.
The flight is being run under the UDAN scheme.
Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu and other senior officers were present during the flag off ceremony.
The IndiaOne Air flight will take off from Bhubaneswar Airport at 11.35 am daily and reach Jeypore at 1.20 pm. In the return journey, the flight will take off from Jeypore at 4.05 pm and arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 5.50 pm.
The service will be available six days a week and the cost per ticket will be Rs 2500.
