Naveen Hopes ISKCON to Change Its Decision on ‘Untimely’ Rath Yatra in Huston: BJD

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal President and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik has expressed his hope that the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will change its decision on the untimely celebration of Rath Yatra on November 9 at Houston in the US.

In a press briefing, BJD MLA Ganeswar Behera Naveen Patnaik supports Puri Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb’s stand on the issue

LoP Naveen Patnaik feels that the Rath Yatra should not be dragged into the controversy, he said.

The ISKCON’s decision to hold untimely Rath Yatra hurts sentiments of devotees of Lord Jagannath across the globe.

Earlier, Gajapati Maharaja had urged the ISKCON to adhere to the ‘tithi’ (date) as per the scripture and tradition and cancel the Rath Yatra scheduled for November 9.
