Bhubaneswar/Malkangiri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday inaugurated six key projects worth Rs 25 crore to further accelerate the pace of socio-economic development of Malkangiri district.
Launching the projects through video conferencing, the Chief Minister said that Malkangiri has always been special to him. The development of Malkangiri gives him immense joy, he said.
The identity of Malkangiri will be brighter in the future. It will further strengthen its position on the development map as leading district in the State, Naveen said.
Among the projects inaugurated by the CM include two hostels for the SC/ST students studying under the Anwesha programme with accommodation facilities for 600 boys and 600 girls; Biju Patnaik Interstate Bus Terminal at Motu Tri Junction to facilitate transit to the district from Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh; a high-level bridge connecting Malkangari to Banda area; Biju Bridge over the Tamsa river at Balimela; a judo academy for sports development and a shelter for children.
The Chief Minister has highly appreciated the rapid development program in Malkangiri district and expressed that the people of district are connected with development today.
On the occasion, Chittarakunda MLA Puranchandra Baka and District Council Chairperson Samari Tanglu have highly appreciated the strong leadership of the Chief Minister for the rapid development of Malkangiri district.
Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian moderated the program. Secretaries of different departments attended the programme.
