Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his last respects to Odia Jawan Saroj Kumar Das, who was martyred in Sikkim flash floods.
The mortal remains of Saroj Das arrived in Bhubaneswar airport on Saturday. A guard of honour was accorded to the martyred Odia Jawan. The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid humble tributes to the Jawan.
Saroj Das, who was among the 23 missing army personnel in the Sikkim flash floods, was found dead on Thursday.
Saroj, who hails from Kendudhipa village under Kamakhyanagar police station in Dhenkanal district, joined the army in 2012.
The mortal remains will be taken to his native village where the last rites will be performed with full state honours, as per reports.
