Naveen To Join Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Of Vikarm Deb College Jeypore Today, Inaugurate And Lay Foundation Stones Of Projects Worth Rs 1600 Crore

Koraput: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit Jeypore on a one day visit today. During his visit the Chief Minister will join the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Vikram Deb College at Jeypore. Yesterday, Naveen had approved a proposal to accord university status to Vikram Deb College, the oldest educational institution of undivided Koraput district.

Vikram Deb College was established in 1947. The college currently has 16 Post Graduate programs, 17 Under Graduate programs, in addition to BBA, BCA, and B.ED courses. Currently, four thousand students are studying here. All the colleges of undivided Koraput district are affiliated to Berhampur University. The new university will benefit thousands of students from Koraput, Rayagada Nabarangpur and Malkangiri districts.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects worth Rs 1600 Crore. All arrangements have been made for the Chief Minister’s visit. About 20 platoons of police forces have been engaged for security.
