Naveen to Lead BJD’s Grand Welcome to Presidential Candidate Draupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal has planned a grand welcome for the Presidential Candidate Draupadi Murmu who will be in Bhubaneswar today to seek support of all the parties for her candidature. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will meet Draupadi at the State Assembly at about 10.30 am. All Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly of the Biju Janata Dal will be there to welcome her. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been wholeheartedly pursuing for her winning the presidential election. He has appealed all the members of the state assembly irrespective of their party affiliations to support Murmu as the next President of India. She will be the first Odia Woman to be the President of the Country.

Naveen had also reached out to senior members of the Congress Party in the state to seek support for Murmu. He also directed senior Biju Janata Dal members to meet all the MLAs of Congress, other parties and independent legislators and seek support for Draupadi. On Naveen’s appeal, Independent MLA from Rayagada Makaranda Muduli has also agreed to lend his support to Murmu. The BJD MLAs will give a grand welcome to Draupadi after her arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport.

Draupadi Murmu, the daughter of Odisha, has been nominated by the BJP led NDA as its Presidential Candidate. Before her nomination, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also a discussion with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik regarding her candidature. Bharatiya Janata Party national President J P Nadda also called upon Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and held discussions on the candidature of Draupadi. She will be the first tribal President of India. Ever Since the name of Draupadi Murmu has been declared as the Presidential candidate, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been leading from the front to garner support for her and has appealed all other parties many a times to lend their support to her. As a true statesman, Naveen has been campaigning for Draupadi as it will be a historic moment for the country.
