Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has welcomed issuance of operating license for the state airport at Jeypore to commence passenger services.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has granted aerodrome licence to Jeypore airport. The airport will now be able to handle scheduled commercial flights under the government’s regional connectivity scheme UDAN.
Welcoming the decision, the Chief Minister said that it will fulfil people’s aspirations of this region and give boost to connectivity, commerce and tourism.
Jeypore becomes 1st state owned airport to get a license. With state support, airline operator-IndiaOne Air will commence flight operations for public very soon., the Chief Minister’s Office informed.
