Navy Rescues 146 Personnel After Barge Adrift Off Mumbai Coast

Mumbai: The Indian Navy has rescued as many as 146 people from barge P305 that went adrift in the Arabian Sea off Mumbai coast near the Bombay High.

The incident happened just hours before Cyclone Tauktae made landfall in Gujarat. All the personnel are said to be of ONGC.

There were 273 people on board the barge. The first 60 personnel trapped were rescued around 11 pm yesterday. INS Kochi, INS Kolkata, Great Ship Ahalya, OSV Ocean Energy, have all joined the rescue mission in saving the 146 people.

Helicopter mission has been launched today to rescue the other people trapped in the Bombay High area.
