Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Friday arrested a junior stenographer at office of District Treasury Officer in Nayagarh district.
The stenographer has been identified as Durga Prasad Mohapatra.
“Durga Prasad Mohapatra, Jr. Stenographer, O/o District Treasury Officer, Nayagarh has been apprehended while taking bribe Rs. 48,000 from a Teacher in order to process applications of 161 teachers for opening of PRAN from PRAN centre, under IT Department, Bhubaneswar”, the Vigilance said.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case no 11/2023 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress in the matter, the Vigilance said.
