Bhubaneswar: The Kanteimundi brinjal of Odisha’s Nayagarh district has received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
The Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) has applied for the GI tag in February 2021.
Kanteimundi brinjal has a unique taste and flavor. It is particuarly cultivated in Nayagarh district both in the Kharif and Rabi seasons. This vegetable crop has more number of seeds as compared to other genotype.
