Balasore: The Divisional Railway Manager of Kharagpur Division under South Eastern Railways has suspended the Station Master and pointsman of Nilagiri Road for yesterday’s incident in which the Bhadrak-Balasore MEMU train entered the loop line due to wrong signaling. A big tragedy was averted as the alert loco pilot stopped the train in time. The Railways has also ordered for a departmental inquiry into the incident. According to sources, at least three railway personnel including the Station Marster, Loco Pilot and the Pointsman are being interrogated by the senior officers of South Eastern Railway.
A major train accident was averted yesterday when the loco pilot of the Bhadrak-Balasore MEMU train stopped the train on time when it wrongly entered into the loop line due to signaling error near Baruna Singh chhak at Nilgiri Road railway station in Balasore district.
