Mumbai: Actress Nimrat Kaur went the extra mile to make her ‘Dasvi’ character look authentic. She gained 15 kgs of weight to bring Bimla Devi to life.
On why she decided to take the full plunge, Nimrat says, “Bimla is a typical North Indian housewife who becomes an overnight politician. There was a certain realistic look we had designed and piling on the pounds was just part of the process.”
Director Tushar Jalota too was delighted with the dedication, as he shares, “With a cast and crew that’s relentless towards making a film better, what else can a director ask for! Nimrat was taking a big gamble, but we are glad that it paid off. When audiences walk out of Dasvi, they will be in love with Bimla”.
