Bhubaneswar: There is no shortage of coal in Odisha like other States in the country, said Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra on Saturday.
Odisha is not facing coal crisis like other States where power cuts are going on for 10 to 12 hours due to shortage of coal, he said.
The Chief Secretary further said that the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has been directed to supply adequate quantity of coal to all power plants in the State.
Various states continued to grapple with power shortages amid soaring mercury pushing the demand higher, according to reports.
