Bhubaneswar: Opposition Biju Janata Dal has strongly reacted to the allegations regarding the construction of Sankha Bhawan, the party headquarters of BJD, in Bhubaneswar.
The BJD said that there are no irregularities in the construction of Sankha Bhawan. It has been built as per the prevailing laws and regulations, the party said.
In a press briefing, BJD spokesperson Debi Prasad Mishra said that a high-level committee, chaired by the then Chief Secretary, had allotted four plots at Ganganagar Mouza in Bhubaneswar to the party for construction of Sankha Bhawan.
The status of three plots had been mentioned as Gharbari while that of one was Conservancy Lane. There was no mention of public road or ‘Sadak’ in the official records. The Committee had finalized the benchmark value of the plots at around Rs 13 crore, he said.
Earlier, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said that the State Government would probe into the allegations that Sankha Bhawan was constructed on a patch of land by changing its status.
