Bhubaneswar: Normal monsoon is expected in the country this year, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Tuesday.
The country will witness normal rainfall during the monsoon season. There are 67 per cent chances of normal to above-normal rainfall this year, the IMD stated.
As per Long Range Forecast (LRF), the Southwest Monsoon seasonal (June-Sept) rainfall is likely to be normal (96% (± 5% model error) of Long Period Avg.).
The LPA of the seasonal rainfall over the country as a whole based on data of 1971-2020 is 87 cm, the IMD said.
