Notification Issued for Rajya Sabha Elections, Voting For 56 Seats in 15 States To be Held On 27th February

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has issued the notification today for election to 56 seats of Rajya Sabha that falling vacant in the coming days. According to the Notification, the elections will be held on the 27th of this month. Of these seats, three seats are falling vacant from Odisha. The terms of the present members Prashant Nanda, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Amar Patnaik will end on April 3rd.

With the release of the Notification, the process of filing nominations has started. Candidates can file their nominations by February 15th. Scrutiny of the nominations will take place on February 16th. Candidates can withdraw their candidature by February 20th. The Voting will be held on February 27th and the results will be declared on the same day. The voting will be held from 9 am to 4 pm.
