Odisha CM, LoP Condole Demise of Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik condoled the demise of former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who died at his residence in South Kolkata on Thursday morning at the age of 80.

Taking to his ‘X’ handle, CM Mohan Majhi wrote, “Saddened to hear about the demise of former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. His legacy in Indian politics will be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Omm Shanti”.

In his condolence message, LoP Naveen Patnaik said that Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will be remembered for his probity in public life, welfare initiatives and his contribution to nation building.
“Deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of former West Bengal Chief Minister #BuddhadebBhattacharya. He will be remembered for his probity in public life, welfare initiatives and his contribution to nation building. My condolences to the bereaved family members and admirers. Om Shanti”, Naveen wrote on his ‘X’ handle.


Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was the Chief Minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, succeeding the nonagenarian India Marxist and the longest-serving Chief Minister of West Bengal, Late Jyoti Basu.
