Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday remembered great litterateur and patriot Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay on his birth anniversary.
Taking to Twitter, the Odisha CM said that Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay will always be remembered through his immortal composition of the national song Vande Mataram that infused a new spirit into the freedom struggle.

Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay was born on this day in 1838. He was widely regarded as one of the key figures in literary renaissance of Indian subcontinent. He was the composer of Vande Mataram, originally in Sanskrit, personifying India as a mother goddess and inspiring activists during the Indian Independence Movement. The iconic song will remain an eternal inspiration for every Indian.
