Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit the pilgrim city of Puri tomorrow to perform the bhoomi pujan of the ambitious Jagannath Heritage Corridor project.
The Jagannath Heritage Corridor project, which is a part of the “ABADHA” (Augmentation of Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture) scheme, aims at transforming Puri into a World Class heritage City.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will lay the foundation stone for the ambitious project and perform the Purna Ahuti of the three-day yajna.
Earlier on November 22, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra and Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited Puri to review the preparations.
Being implemented at a cost of nearly Rs 800 crore within a 75-metre radius of the Srimandir, the heritage corridor project envisages the development of mutts, a Shree Jagannath reception centre, amenities for devotees and enhanced security for the shrine.
According to the SJTA, people who have given away their land for the project will be felicitated tomorrow.
