Bhubaneswar: Barabati-Cuttack Congress MLA Mohammed Moqium has been sentenced three years of jail by a special Vigilance court in connection with the corruption in Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC).
The Vigilance court also awarded three years of jail terms for former IAS officer Binod Kumar, Metro Builders Private Limited director Peeyushdhari Mohanty and ORHDC company secretary Swosti Ranjan Mohapatra in connection with the case, as per reports.
The court sentenced three years jail to Moquim, who was working as the Managing Director of Metro Builders Private Limited during the scam and Binod Kumar was working as the Managing Director of ORHDC.
They all are fined Rs 50,000 each along with the jail term.
