Odisha: EOW Arrests Two Fraudsters in Multiple Land Fraud Cases

Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Police arrested two persons including the mastermind in multiple land fraud cases.

Antaryami Senapati, a Moharir cum Advocate-Clerk by profession, the mastermind of the organized land fraud and his associate Ananta Kumar Pradhan were arrested from Bhubaneswar and they were produced before the Court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar.

They used to sell the land by impersonation, hired identifiers and forging documents, the EOW said while adding that it has already detected eight such frauds involving the duo.

The EOW said that the case was registered basing on the allegation of Lipika Das that her land at Vasanta Vihar at Malipada Mouza in Khurda was sold to one Haladhar Dash by someone who impersonated her before the Sub Registrar, Khandagiri without her knowledge.

Antaryami Senapati and his associates had fraudulently made the fake sale deed by impersonating the real owner and arranging the fake identifying witnesses. In order to materialize their plan, they manufactured the false documents, the EOW said in a press release.

So far eight such land selling frauds have already come to notice, it added.
