Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has appointed two senior IAS officers on Special Duty for the upcoming for Men’s Hockey World Cup scheduled to be held during January, 2023 .
As per a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, Bhupendra Singh Poonia will remain in charge of the Officer on Special Duty, Sports & Youth Services Department for the Men’s Hockey World Cup at Rourkela.
Similarly, Reghu G will remain in charge of the Officer on Special Duty, Sports & Youth Services Department for the Men’s Hockey World Cup at Bhubaneswar.
Balwant Singh has been allowed to remain in charge of the Vice-Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority and Managing Director, Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd.
“Balwant Singh, IAS(RR-2007), Managing Director, Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd with additional charge of Managing Director, Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd. (OMECL) and MD, IDCOL is also allowed to remain in charge of the Vice-Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority and Managing Director, Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd. in addition to his own duties”, the notification reads.
“Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS(RR-2008), Managing Director, IPICOL with additional charge of Additional Secretary to Government, Industries Department, Managing Director, Odisha Film Development Corporation and Managing Director, IDCO is also allowed to remain in charge of the Officer on Special Duty, Sports & Youth Services Department for the Men’s Hockey world Cup at Rourkela in addition to his own duties”, it stated.
“Reghu G, IAS(RR-2011), Director, Technical Education & Training. Odisha, Cuttack is allowed to remain in charge of the Officer on Special Duty, Sports & Youth Services Department for the Men’s Hockey world Cup at Bhubaneswar in addition to his own duties”, the notification further stated.
The upcoming FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup-2023 is to be co-hosted by both Bhubaneswar and Rourkela City. The Odisha Government is leaving no stone unturned to make this mega event grand successful.
