Odisha Govt Constitutes Four-Member Committee to Look into Teachers’ Grievances

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Wednesday constituted a four-member Committee to look into the grievances of the agitating teachers.

The Committee comprises Chief Secretary as Chairman, Principal Secretary, GA & PG Department as Member, Principal Secretary, Finance Department as Member and Commissioner-Cum-Secretary, School and Mass Education Department as Member-Convenor.

The Committee will meet the representatives of the United Primary Teachers Association between 16′ December to 20th December, 2022 to discuss on their grievances, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said.

School & Mass Education Department as the nodal department will process the file for holding the meeting in this regard with all relevant information, he added.

Notably, the government school teachers from across the State are on a stir here on their three-point charter of demands which include the abolition of the contractual system, resuming the old pension system and increasing the grade pay while counting their six years of teaching experience.
