Odisha Govt Hikes Electric Vehicle Subsidy

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has enhanced the subsidy on the purchase of two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler electric vehicles.

The step has been taken for faster adoption of electric vehicles in the State.

The State Government on Wednesday amended the Electric Vehicle Policy-2021 two days after the State Cabinet approved the proposal to amend the policy.

As per a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport Department, “The clause 4.1.1 of the said Policy, i.e., the purchase incentive which will be effective during the policy period, has been increased.”

The maximum subsidy to be provided by the State Government on the purchase of electricity-powered two-wheeler vehicles is Rs 20,000. Maximum Rs 30,000 subsidy will be provided for three-wheelers and Rs 1.5 lakh subsidy for four-wheeler vehicles.
