Bhubaneswar: The UN General Assembly has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets (IYOM) to promote millets globally. In this regard Odisha Millets Mission has planned to organize a series of activities to commemorate this opportunity and spread the importance and benefits of millets globally.
The Odisha Government has partnered with FICCI for organization of events and programmes for IYOM 2023.
An MoU has been signed on Tuesday between Prem Chandra Choudhary, the Director of Agriculture and Food Production, Govt. of Odisha and Mousumi Ghose, Assistant Secretary General, FICCI in presence of Ranendra Pratap Swain, Minister, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Fisheries & ARD, Odisha and Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment, Govt. of Odisha at Krushi Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
As per the MoU, the DA&FE, Odisha and FICCI will be partners for organizing the many activities and events for the celebrations of IYOM 2023.
FICCI will render necessary end-to-end help, support and services towards successful organization of the activities throughout the year with regards to IYOM including pre-event activities.
FICCI will work with the Government of Odisha, represented by DA&FE and other committees constituted by the State Government. FICCI will take up various activities towards organization of the events throughout the year and provide end-to-end coordination support in execution of all the activities related to IYOM 2022-23.
The DA&FE will provide and facilitate necessary and incidental support to FICCI in terms of approvals, clearances, advisory and resources for various activities and events, including review and monitoring of activities regularly.
FICCI will collaborate with PR agency, Design Partner, Event Management Partner, Knowledge Partner, research partners or any other partner appointed by DA&FE for the events to implement given scope of work.
