Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday simplified the rules for the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) Scheme for the teaching and non-teaching staffs of fully aided private colleges in the State.
As per the announcement made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the MACP scheme provided under the Odisha Revised Pay Scale Rules, 2017, has been simplified for the benefit of teaching and non-teaching staff of fully-aided private colleges.
Now the MACP will be determined based on the date of receipt of the first grant instead of the date of receipt of the 100% grant.
Similarly, to attract talented faculty in the teaching profession in fully-aided private colleges, special steps have been taken to pursue the PhD degree. Two advance increments in the appropriate pay scale at entry level only, (only in faculty position) will be granted as an incentive to faculty members for acquiring additional qualifications of PhD during employment.
Notably, during the district visits of 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian, the problems of the teaching and non-teaching staff of fully aided colleges employed in different parts of the state were brought to his notice.
Accordingly, the State Government has taken steps to resolve their problems.
