Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has taken action against the traders allegedly involved in black marketing and hoarding of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment has issued 2,136 show cause notices, suspended 48 and cancelled 13 licenses and also lodged 14 FIRs against the traders as of August 7 during the enforcement against black marketing and hoarding of seeds, fertilizer and pesticides.
Such enforcement is reinstalling confidence of the farmers, the Department said.
“Krushi Bibhag is taking actions against black marketing & hoarding of seeds, fertilizer & pesticides. As of 7th August 2023, it has issued 2,136 show cause notices, suspended 48 & cancelled 13 licenses and also lodged 14 FIRs aga. Such enforcement is reinstilling farmers’ confidence”, the Department informed through its Twitter handle.
