Odisha Health Dept Asks Dist Collectors to Remain Alert for Possible Breakout of Waterborne Diseases

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health Department asked the Collectors of all districts to remain alert to deal with possible breakout of waterborne diseases in the aftermath of flood.

To deal with every possible situation, remedial measures have been taken by the Health Department, informed Health Director Niranjan Mishra.

He further said that relief camps have been set up at 48 hospitals. 29 teams were deployed in different districts for the help of affected people. Around 11,000 ORS and 28,000 halogens have been distributed. As many as 1390 people have received treatment in flood-affected areas. 36 diarrhea patients have been treated. No one has been hospitalized, he added.

The Health Department has also urged the people not to use flood water.
