Odisha: Higher Education Dept Issues Show Cause Notices to 23 Colleges, 2 Universities for Violating E-Admission Rules
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education Department has issued show cause notices to two universities and 23 degree colleges for allegedly irregularities in PG admission and violation of the students academic management system (SAMS) norms.
The Department had sought replies from the institutions including Khallikote and Kalahandi universities by January 20.
Disobeying the e-admission norms, the educational institutions had approached the department for inclusion of names of students on SAMS who had not been admitted through the e-admission portal during the admission session of 2022-23.
The students were allegedly admitted directly by the institutions.
The High Education Department said that admission of students outside the SAMS fold is a gross violation of e-admission rules and it points to maladministration of the institutions concerned which may result in loss of career prospects of the students concerned.
