Bhubaneswar: In the wake of prevailing flood situation in the State, the Odisha Government has extended the last date of affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on the old vehicles till September 30.
The State Transport Authority (STA) has issued an order in this regard.
“Keeping in view of ongoing flood situation, the last date of affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on the old vehicles registered prior to 01.04.2019 carrying Odisha Registration Mark and Registration Number ending with 1 and 2, fixed till 31st August, 2022 vide this office order No. 7058 dated 26.05.2022 is hereby extended till 30th September, 2022”, the order reads.
The STA said that the law enforcing agencies shall enforce the fitment of HSRP on the old vehicles registered prior to 01.04.2019 carrying Odisha Registration Mark and Registration Number ending with 1, 2, 3 & 4 with effect from October 1, 2022, the STA said.
Recently, the State government has made the HSRPs mandatory for all classes of old vehicles that were registered prior to April 1, 2019.
As per the decision, the HSRP on old vehicles will be affixed by vehicle manufacturers through their authorised vehicle dealers.
Owners of the vehicles are free to choose any dealer, place and date for affixing of HSRP.
