Bhubaneswar: A medical officer has been sentenced to two years jail following his conviction in a bribery case, Odisha Vigilance informed on Tuesday.
Dr. Karunakar Rout, a former medical officer at Madhuban CHC, Jajpur and currently medical officer at Dist Headquarters Hospital, Bhadrak, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Spl. Judge, Vig, CTC for taking bribe, was convicted to two years jail and fine of Rs.10,000.
Odisha Vigilance said that it will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Dr. Karunakar Rout from service following his conviction.
