Odisha Police Makes Record Quantity of Seizure of Ganja in 2023

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has achieved the seizure of record quantity of ganja in a year in 2023.

The State Police seized 1850 quintals or 185 tons of ganja seized in more than 1160 cases last year, informed the Special Task Force (STF) of the State Police.

More than 1600 accused and peddlers involved in ganja trading were arrested in 2023. This is the highest seizure ever in one year by Odisha Police, the STF added.

The top five districts figured in the ganja seizure were Boudh (435 quintals in 137 cases) followed by Malkangiri (355 quintals in 166 cases), Kandhamal (337 quintals in 184 cases), Gajapati (234 quintals in 73 cases) and Koraput (202 quintals in 136 cases).
