Bhubaneswar: Childline and Saheed Nagar Police rescued a child bride from Kesura area here on Thursday.
On being alerted about the child marriage case by DCPU Counselor, Childline and Saheed Nagar Police rescued the 14 years old child bride who married to a 26 years old man.
Both bride and groom were living in Kesura area after marriage. The child belongs to Keonjhar district and the man belongs to Ganjam district.
An FIR has been lodged by Childline at Saheed Nagar Police Station.
Since it was night, under intimation to Addl. CWC and DCPO, the child is living in the care of Childline. she will be physically produced before Addl. CWC, according to Police.
