Cuttack: The Cyber Police in Cuttack busted a major pre-activated SIM card racket and arrested eight members of the gang in this connection.
The police also seized 800 SIM Cards from the possession of the gang members, said Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
The gang members used to issue multiple SIM Cards by using the biometrics of a customer without his knowledge and used to sell those in bulk to cyber fraudsters operating from outside the state, the DCP said.
Seven of the arrested accused are staff of a private telecom company.
The seven accused belong to Puri district. The police have seized 16 mobile phones and Rs 2600 from their possession, as per reports.
