Bhubaneswar: Though a little bit late, but the monsoon rains seem to be catching up in Odisha. While the percentage of rain in the state stood at 40 percent deficit by June end, the deficit has been reduced to 29 percent in the last four days till July 4th. According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, widespread rains in the last few days helped narrow the deficit in rainfall by 11 percent in Odisha. From 1st June to 4th July, Odisha has received 181.4 MM rainfall which is 29 percent less than the average rainfall of 256 MM.
